Mike found his true calling after working with laser technology in the medical field for over 34 years and founding the Houston Laser Institute in 1980, which conducted surgical laser training for doctors and nurses. In 1990, while doing some research, he stumbled upon an article from Japan on the benefits of Low-Level Laser Therapy using a unique power and wavelength. And so his journey began to bring this unique cold laser technology to the United States by investing 12-years and more than 4 million dollars in two double-blind studies with General Motors and Baylor College of Medicine. In the early 2000s, MicroLight received the first FDA clearance for cold laser therapy to treat Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.
Before Mike found his love for lasers and helping people, he played college football at the University of Houston, served six years in the Texas National Guard Airborne, played tennis at the state and national amateur level. He is an avid golfer, having played at both St. Andrew’s and Pebble Beach – and has the knees to prove it – just ask him!
Mike continues to educate professionals and laymen alike on the benefits of using the MicroLight Smart Laser and its patented 830nanometer wavelength and 90 milliwatts of power.
