Neuralgia

Neuralgia refers to a stabbing, burning, and often severe pain due to an irritated or damaged nerve. This damage may be caused by aging, an infection like shingles, diseases like diabetes or multiple sclerosis (MS), and any nerve in the body can be affected.

Post-herpetic neuralgia is an extremely painful condition that often occurs severely in old age and may persist for years. A study was conducted to investigate the influence of low-level laser radiation on patients suffering from post-herpetic neuralgia. The study conducted 16 treatment sessions over the course of 8 weeks.

By the end of the study, 11 out of 15 patients reported no more pain, 3 patients only had mild pain, and one had moderate pain. Even several months after the completion of the study, no pain or other abnormality recurred. This proves that LLLT is excellent for reducing or even eliminating neuralgia pain and may replace pain medication in the future.
