Joint pain refers to discomfort arising from any joint. In the medical world, this is known as arthralgia. In comparison, arthritis refers to inflammation of the joint, which causes pain and sometimes warmth, redness, and/or swelling of the joint.
Joint pain may be constant or sporadic. It can cause the joints to feel stiff, achy, or sore. Sometimes the stiffness is only felt in the morning and loosens up throughout the day. Some patients with joint pain complain of a burning, throbbing, or “grating” sensation. Movement and physical activity may help relieve the pain.
While more studies need to be conducted, initial ones show promising outcomes, concluding that LLLT is a safe and effective treatment for patients suffering from joint pain.
